Antique 1900’s Vernis Martin, Louis XV Style Gilt Bronze Mounted Kingwood Bombe Cabinet
Here is an exquisite, highly unique accentuated bombe locking cabinet done in the distinctively decorative French Louis XV style with gilt bronze mounts and overlays. It is made of kingwood with a light antiqued lacquer finish. It features painted Vernis Martin mural panels on three sides, including an Arcadian courtship scene on the fall front center door which doesn’t hinge at a 90-degree angle but rather dramatically, elegantly falls forward, opening at a slant. The cabinet has three drawers, one cavetto-molded drawer at the top above the center fall front door and two below. Open the center fall front door and reveal an entirely mirrored interior with a single glass shelf. The cabinet sits on four splayed wooded feet. Comes with key but not original to cabinet. Circa: 1900’s.
